Barcelona are working hard to wrap up a transfer deal to sign Nico Williams before the 2024/25 La Liga season.
La Blaugrana have identified the Spanish international as their primary transfer option with talks ongoing with Athletic Club.
As it stands, the Basque side are determined to secure Williams’ full €58m release clause in Bilbao, as Barcelona aim to structure a deal.

Barcelona are expecting a key decision in the coming days amid rumours they have already agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old.
However, despite Barcelona’s positivity over how negotiations are progressing, they could be required to pay more for Williams than originally thought.
As per the latest update from Mundo Deportivo, Williams’ exit clause will be impacted by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) which could move the final fee up to €62m.
The increase is not expected to be an issue for Barcelona as they are determined to secure an agreement for Williams to bolster their title challenge.
