Barcelona had a disappointing 2-2 draw against Granada on Sunday, widening the gap with Real Madrid to three points at the top of La Liga. Their latest match also brought injury concerns as Jules Koundé went off in the first half with a knee issue, and Lamine Yamal suffered a knock later on, forcing Xavi Hernández into another injury substitution.
Koundé has withdrawn from the France squad for the upcoming international matches. Fortunately, Yamal’s injury is not severe, and he could return for Barcelona’s next game after the international break against Athletic Club, according to JijantesFC. He will join up with the Spain national team, although it remains to be seen if he will feature for La Roja.
Spain’s head coach, Luis de la Fuente, already has ample cover with Ansu Fati and Bryan Zaragoza, having called them up due to Yeremy Pino’s withdrawal from the squad. Despite Yamal being possibly out for matches against Scotland and Norway, Spain have sufficient depth in his position.
