Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has been given the green light by Atletico Madrid, for a potential return to Serie A with AC Milan.
As the 31-year-old prepares for his country’s Euro 2024 semi-final clash with France, Spanish sports journal As (via milannews24.it) writes that his club future may lie in Serie A.
It’s understood that his current employers, Atletico Madrid, are open to a sale and that the Rossoneri are willing to meet the €15M release clause that would prize him away from the Spanish capital.
As also states that Milan are ready to meet the players €6M net per-season salary demands and that Morata himself is keen to return to Italy’s top-flight, having spent two years with Juventus between 2020 and 2022 and making 130 appearances in the process, scoring 35 times.
Last term, Morata netted 15 times in 32 Liga appearances for the Colchoneros and is still in with a chance of claiming the Golden Boot for top goalscorer at the European Championships.
