Atalanta sporting director on Teun Koopmeiners: “Nothing concrete with Liverpool”

Atalanta sporting director Tony D’Amico has revealed that there is nothing concrete in the rumours linking Liverpool with a move for La Dea midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.

The Dutchman has impressed a fair bit since he joined Atalanta from AZ Alkmaar and he proved vital even yesterday, as he scored a fantastic long-range hit to help his side equalise against Bologna, who had taken the lead but they were beaten 2-1.

Rumours recently have linked Liverpool with a move for the midfielder and before the game between the Rossoblu and La Dea started, D’Amico spoke to Sky Italia about the Reds’ potential interest and move for Koopmeiners. He also spoke about Marco Sportiello’s links with Milan.

“Sportiello is and will remain an Atalanta player, we’ve never had contact. For Koopmeiners, there is nothing concrete with Liverpool. Their interest pleases us, but he is our player.”

Koopmeiners now has five Serie A goals this season and has three assists to his name. Before he moved to Atalanta, the midfielder was linked with multiple Premier League clubs and in the past, there have been suggestions that he is someone that La Dea consider untransferrable.
