Aston Villa are reportedly ready to make a decision on two players nearing the ends of their contracts.
Both Robin Olson and Kortney Hause are out of contract in summer 2025, and it seems Villa will hope to soon come to a decision on the pair one way or another.
It seems likely that Hause will be allowed to move on at the end of his current deal after barely getting any playing time at Villa Park in the last two years.
Olsen, meanwhile, is 34 years of age and a backup goalkeeper for Unai Emery’s side, so it’s also hard to imagine the club will find a role for him to continue with them for any longer.
Villa, like all clubs, will undoubtedly be keen to ensure they have decent squad depth, but they can probably do so without also carrying passengers like this who aren’t really contributing anything to the team.
It will be interesting to see if any clubs show an interest in these players, but it could well be that they’d have plenty to offer if they were willing to step down a level from Villa.
