According to a report from L’Équipe, Arsenal are expected to reach an agreement with Sporting to sign Viktor Gyökeres (27) on Tuesday. The Gunners are set to submit a bid in the region of €75m, which will meet the Portuguese outfit’s demands for the former Coventry striker.
The 27-year-old has been in demand this summer. Al-Hilal submitted an offer to sign the Sweden international, but Gyökeres rejected the opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia. His agent, Jorge Mendes, also encouraged him to move to Manchester United, but the Sporting forward was resolute in his desire to sign for Arsenal.
Once an agreement has been reached, the striker will be free to travel to North London and complete a medical before being unveiled as Arsenal’s latest summer signing. Gyökeres has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League club and will be hoping to put all rumours to an end following a long transfer saga.
