Wilshere’s verdict on Raphinha and Jesus

Speaking about Leeds United winger Raphinha on talkSPORT, as cited by the Metro, Jack Wilshere said: “He’s [Raphinha] someone who came to England and adapted straight away. That always shows the quality of a player because some players – even top players – take a little while to get to grips with the Premier League.

“He’s got a lot of experience in a short amount of time and was in a relegation battle last season. He’s one I would like to see at Arsenal.”

Meanwhile, Wilshere also thinks Gabriel Jesus will add an additional threat up front: “I think he would be a top, top signing. He’s a top striker and he’s obviously played in a top team for many years now. He knows the Premier League so he’s someone who could come in and fit in straight away. With Arsenal’s creative players, he would score a lot of goals.”

Vieira’s nickname

Nuno Tavares has already revealed what new Arsenal signing Fabio Vieira’s nickname is.

Arsenal confirmed the signing of the Porto midfielder on Tuesday as he became the club’s second arrival of the summer. As revealed by football.london, the Gunners had been tracking the Portugal under-21 international for some time and have moved to conclude a deal just days after announcing the signing of Brazil wonderkid Marquinhos who joined from Sao Paulo for a fee believed to be in the region of £3m.

It’s never easy for a player to walk into a new club and immediately fit in, but luckily for Vieira, he has compatriot and friend Nuno Tavares on hand to help ease his transition into Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Plus, it makes things even easier if you have an entertaining nickname for your teammates to refer you as too. Well, Tavares has revealed what that nickname is in his welcome message on Instagram.
