Arsenal face competition from Aston Villa and AC Milan for Real Madrid star

Arsenal are eyeing a January swoop for Real Madrid star Endrick.

The Gunners face competition from Aston Villa, AC Milan and Roma for the 20-year-old’s signature, per Italian outlet Calciomercato.

Arsenal are in need of attacking reinforcements. Bukayo Saka picked up a quadriceps injury against Bayern Munich last month and he is expected to be out for several weeks.

There are also major question marks over Viktor Gyokeres’ future at the club after his underwhelming form.

Arsenal are long-term admirers of Endrick, who can operate as a centre-forward as well as a winger.

The Brazil international has struggled for first-team opportunities due to the wealth of attacking options at Madrid.

He was linked with a summer departure with several top European clubs interested, but manager Jose Mourinho was firmly against letting him leave.

However, Endrick’s situation has not improved under Mourinho this season. He has made only two La Liga appearances this campaign.

Endrick grabbed headlines last month when he came off the bench to register a goal and an assist to help his team win against Roma in the Champions League.

That match-winning performance earned him a start in Madrid’s next La Liga match against Sevilla.

But Endrick failed to make the most of that opportunity. Kylian Mbappe, Arda Guler and Yan Diomande scored goals but the Brazilian failed to get on the scoresheet.

Endrick was an unused substitute in the latest El Clasico and featured for only the final five minutes against Racing Santander on Sunday.

The 20-year-old could push to leave in January in search of more first-team opportunities.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances.

Arsenal are prepared to offer him a fresh start in north London. Villa, Milan and Roma are also keen on his services.
