Arsenal face competition from Aston Villa and AC Milan for Real Madrid star

Arsenal are eyeing a January swoop for Real Madrid star Endrick.

The Gunners face competition from Aston Villa, AC Milan and Roma for the 20-year-old, per Italian outlet Calciomercato.

Arsenal need attacking reinforcements. Bukayo Saka picked up a quadriceps injury against Bayern Munich last month, and he is expected to miss several weeks.

There are also major question marks over Viktor Gyokeres’ future at the club after his underwhelming form.

Arsenal have long admired Endrick, who can operate across the front line.

The Brazil international has struggled for first-team opportunities due to the wealth of attacking options at Madrid.

He was linked with several top European clubs this summer, but manager Jose Mourinho was firmly against letting him leave.

However, Endrick’s situation has not improved under Mourinho this season. He has made only two La Liga appearances.

Endrick grabbed headlines last month when he came off the bench to bag a goal and an assist to help Madrid defeat Roma in the Champions League.

That match-winning performance earned him a start in Madrid’s next La Liga match against Sevilla.

Endrick failed to make the most of that opportunity. Kylian Mbappe, Arda Guler and Yan Diomande scored goals, but the Brazilian failed to get on the scoresheet.

He was an unused substitute in the latest El Clasico and featured for only the final five minutes against Racing Santander on Sunday.

The 20-year-old could push to leave in January in search of more first-team opportunities.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances.
