Amorim Tells ‘Incredible’ Star to Leave Man Utd in Meeting Today

Ruben Amorim will be staying at Manchester United next season, but has told winger Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Losing the Europa League final confirmed that Manchester United would end their worst-ever Premier League season without any European football for the new campaign. The Reds have endured a terrible term, with Ruben Amorim having struggled for consistency in the Premier League since replacing Erik ten Hag early in the season.

Much has been said about Garnacho, who has been called an “incredible” player, since Amorim’s appointment. The Argentina international looked set for a departure in January only to remain at the club and despite consistent appearances in the Europa League, the winger started the final on the bench and scarcely had any time to impact the game after coming on in the 71st minute, something that reportedly disgruntled Garnacho.

Numerous teams have shown an interest in Garnacho in the past and now it appears that the youngster will indeed be playing elsewhere for the new season.

Ornstein has said that Garnacho was told, at Carrington over the weekend, that he would be sold as Amorim explained his plans to the players. Garnacho was dropped earlier in the season by Amorim, but seemingly regained his manager’s trust, becoming a key part of the Red Devils first team within the last six months of the season.

Many clubs have held an interest in Garnacho, who spent time in the Man United youth academy before debuting for the senior team. Were Garnacho to leave, he would represent a pure profit deal for the Red Devils, something that will help alleviate any financial worries the club have, which will only have increased after losing the Europa League final.

Garnacho is all but certain, especially now, to leave Manchester United. The question, of course, is where will the winger move to?
