Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has stressed that head coach Fernando Alonso and prodigy Florian Wirtz are not going anywhere this summer.
“Xabi Alonso will continue. He is good for us. He is good for us and we are good for him,” Carro told the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger of the Spanish coach, who has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Tottenham.
As for the highly-rated Wirtz, who is under contract until 2027, Carro said:
“He’s happy, we’re happy, there are clear agreements – nothing will happen.”
Wirtz, 20, is reportedly looking to move on after playing at Euro 2024 with Germany at home.
