Speaking on L’After Foot, RMC Sport journalist Edward Jay has evoked the possibility of Olympique Lyonnais captains Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso leaving the club during the January transfer window.
If the OL ship is going down, will their captains go down with it? Perhaps not, at least according to RMC Sport. Only Kylian Mbappé scored more than Lacazette last season. The French forward excelled on his return to Ligue 1 and helped his formative club to a mid-table finish, however, he has not been as prolific this campaign.
Les Gones’ captain has just three goals in eight matches this season, and he didn’t even start in the club’s only victory of the season so far, which came against Stade Rennais just before the international break. Despite that victory, Lyon are still mired in a relegation battle. However, amidst that battle, could two of their most experienced players depart?
RMC Sport have revealed that Lacazette and Tolisso could leave. The former is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia and American franchises, whilst the latter is of interest to foreign clubs. The French publication reveals that the pair could stay and try to right the ship or leave as it potentially sinks.
