In his first interview as a Sevilla player, Alex Telles discussed his transfer to the Andalucían side.
As it was communicated yesterday, the Brazilian full-back joined Sevilla on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United.
Telles revealed his initial thoughts on joining Los Nervionenses:
“I’m delighted and very happy with what I’m seeing here. I’m very excited and looking forward to starting and I’m sure that I’m at the right place, with the feelings of the fans and the club. As a team, we desire and aim to go as far as possible and I’m ready to give everything. I’m very excited to start now.”
The Brazilian also expressed his interest in joining Sevilla when he first heard about the opportunity.
“I have spoken to some players who have been here or who know the city. I’ve always had a positive view of Sevilla and when the opportunity arrived I didn’t think twice. I think I’m in the right place to play my best football. I had zero doubts.”
“When the coach called me for the first time, I said that of course, I wanted to talk to him, that if there was a chance to come, I was ready. The coach was very interested in signing me and that encouraged me to pursue the opportunity. That’s why I’m here.”
Alex Telles is still contracted with Manchester United until June 2024 and the loan deal doesn’t have an option to buy clause included.
