Al-Ittihad attempt to sign PSG captain Marquinhos

According to a report from Sacha Tavolieri, Al-Ittihad are looking to sign Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos (30) this summer.

Saudi Arabia’s big spending wasn’t simply a flash in the pan, with the Gulf State looking to once again acquire some of the top talents from across Europe. Tavolieri understands that Al-Ittihad, who last summer signed French duo Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté, are set to lodge an ambitious bid to sign PSG’s Marquinhos.

The Brazil international is an ever-present for Les Parisiens and last season became the club’s record appearance holder. However, Al-Ittihad are looking to lure him away from the Parc des Princes. Marquinhos is aware of the interest from the Gulf State and is receptive to it. Tavolieri understands that he would even be keen on the move. PSG are also aware of the interest.

However, RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins understands that PSG want to keep their captain and are counting on him being in the squad next season.
