Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot could soon put an end to the speculation surrounding his future as he is set for a contract extension with the Italian giants.
The French midfielder’s future has been up in the air since his failed attempt to sign for Manchester United last summer.
However, optimism has grown among the Juve camp in recent weeks that Rabiot, whose current deal expires this summer, would commit his future to the club.
According to the latest report by Corriere dello Sport, The 28-year-old is on the verge of agreeing a one-year extension on the same salary (€7 million per season) as his previous deal.
Premier League giants Man Utd were willing to offer more, however, Rabiot is said to have become more convinced of Juve’s project than that of the Red Devils.
The close relationship with manager Massimiliano Allegri has also played a part in Rabiot’s renewal.
Despite finding himself on the chopping block last summer, Rabiot was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise turbulent 2022/23 campaign, causing Juve to change their stance on him.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star has also decided to put up with the absence of European football, with the Old Lady finishing seventh in Serie A last season mainly because of their 10-point deduction.
It will be a busy summer for Juve as there are a number of players linked with an exit, with the departures of Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes already formalised.
Meanwhile, the Old Lady have permanently bought Arkadiusz Milik from Marseille and are closing on the transfer of Lille winger Timothy Weah in a deal worth €12 million.
