AC Milan have added Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra to their list of potential targets for the summer (h/t Gianluca Di Marzio).
The Rossoneri are looking to revolutionise their midfield in the summer transfer window following the departure of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City.
The Italian giants have received around €50 million from the Dutch midfielder’s sale and plan to reinvest it in new signings.
Real Madrid legend Luka Modric is expected to pen his contract with Milan in the coming days on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, Milan are also preparing for the departure of midfielder Yunus Musah, who is inching closer towards joining Napoli in a deal worth €25 million.
Guerra has emerged as Milan’s latest target after showing incredible consistency at Valencia.
Coming through the never-ending pipeline of talents from the famed Mestalla academy, Guerra has been one of the bright spots for Valencia in their dark days.
The 21-year-old has been a key cog in Los Che’s engine room, helping them push for a European place this season despite falling short in the end.
A talented midfielder with an excellent passing range and dribbling prowess, Guerra has caught the attention of some European heavyweights.
He is currently representing Spain at the U-21 European Championship, having put in an impressive display in the win against Slovakia in the opening game.
Guerra came close to joining Atletico Madrid last summer when there were doubts about Conor Gallagher’s transfer, but a deal fell through at the last moment.
The Spanish youngster has a release clause worth €100 million in his contract – which runs until 2027, but he can be acquired for around €30 million.

Milan have also lined up Bayer Leverkusen’s Granit Xhaka and Torino’s Samuel Ricci as potential midfield targets.
They are also keeping tabs on Club Brugge’s Swiss sensation Ardon Jashari.
