AC Milan in talks to sign wantaway Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech

AC Milan have stepped up their interest in Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech, who is willing to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Rossoneri are back in the race for the Moroccan playmaker, with the talks ongoing with the West Londoners.

Ziyech has endured a turbulent spell with the Blues following his highly-anticipated move from Ajax in 2020.

The 29-year-old has looked a shadow of his former self at Stamford Bridge, while his impressive displays have been few and far between.

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly sanctioned the sale of Ziyech, with the Blues gaffer interested in the signing of Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling.

The former Ajax star is desperate to revive his career and has given his green light for a transfer to San Siro.

Rossoneri are scouring the market for reinforcements as they are set to play in the Champions League next season.

Stefano Pioli managed to win the scudetto last season with a predominant younger squad, but he needs a marquee player to lead the attack heading into the UCL.

A right-winger is a priority for Rossoneri as they want an upgrade over Alexis Saelemakers and Junior Messias, who are not performing at the highest level.

Ziyech would be a top-class addition to Milan as he has the ability to play on the right wing and as an attacking midfielder.

The reigning Serie A champions are optimistic about a potential deal with Chelsea since the owners of both the clubs are Americans.

A loan move has been touted as the possibility, with Milan hoping to get the deal done for around €5 million per season.

Milan have also shortlisted Club Brugge duo Noa Lang, Charles De Ketelaere and Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio as potential targets for the summer.

Their pursuit of AS Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo appears to be slipping away, with Juventus leading the race to sign him.
