Whilst Foot Mercato have reported that Habib Beye has been sacked as manager of Stade Rennais, L’Équipe understands that the Frenchman remains in charge of the Breton club and will preside over Wednesday night’s encounter against Toulouse FC.
It has been a middling start to the season for Rennes, who currently sit tenth in the league and have not registered a win since 14th September. Foot Mercato reported earlier on Monday that, following Sunday’s defeat to OGC Nice, Beye had been relieved of his duties. The decision, the publication stated, had been made.
However, their report has now been contradicted by L’Équipe, who, whilst conceding that Beye is hanging by a thread, added that he will be in charge of Wednesday’s game against Toulouse. In order to remain Rennes manager beyond Wednesday night, L’Équipe understands that Beye must get a result against Toulouse and end a winless streak that now stretches back six weeks.
