A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way onto the wishlist of Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Marc-André ter Stegen as the player in question.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen has of course continued to play an absolutely integral role for Barcelona across the season to date.
A spell on the sidelines owing to a back injury aside, the German international has acted as an ever-present between the posts under the watch of boss Xavi.
Despite Barca’s collective struggles, Ter Stegen, for the most part, has impressed, acting as a much-needed last line of defence in a less-than-secure Blaugrana backline.
And such efforts, evidently, have begun to pique outside interest…
As per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad have identified Barcelona’s no.1 as a prime transfer target.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘Mics Pod’ over the weekend, the Italian explained:
“Kevin de Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and Marc André ter Stegen are some of the big names which clubs from Saudi Arabia have on their list for the summer. It is true that Al-Ittihad really like ter Stegen, now let’s see if they can make it happen.”
