Borussia Dortmund received a training boost ahead of their Bundesliga clash against Stuttgart in the Topspiel on Saturday with Gregor Kobel returning to training after the Swiss goalkeeper missed Die Schwarzgelben’s last two league games.
They’re also boosted with the return of Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian midfielder was suspended for two Bundesliga games and then fell ill, but returned to Dortmund’s Brackel on Tuesday.
However, the club are exercising caution when it comes to Donyell Malen. The Dutchman played for the Netherlands against Germany but suffered a thigh problem and subsequently missed Dortmund’s 2-0 Klassiker win against Bayern Munich last weekend.
Speaking after BVB’s win, Sebastian Kehl did say: “We hope that Donny will be with us against Stuttgart.”
A busy spell for Borussia Dortmund
With Borussia Dortmund still in the Champions League, April is a busy month for Edin Terzic and Co. They host third-placed Stuttgart at the Signal Iduna Park with Bundesliga games against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen to follow. Not only that, their game against Gladbach is sandwiched between games against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, meaning Dortmund will play five games in 16 days.
