The powers that be at Girona are preparing an appeal to La Liga, over the suspensions handed down to a pair of key figures at the Estadi Montilivi.
High-flying Girona, of course, are facing up to something of a personnel crisis at present.
This comes after the Blanquivermells were dealt a hefty trio of blows, during the club’s weekend meeting with Real Sociedad.
En route to an eventual 0-0 stalemate in Catalunya, the day’s hosts saw head coach Míchel dismissed, and both Daley Blind and Yangel Herrera pick up yellow cards.
This means that all three, as things stand, are suspended for next weekend’s title showdown with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Girona brass, however, are evidently not prepared to allow such a scenario to play out without a fight.
In turn, an imminent appeal will be sent to the head offices of La Liga, in an effort to have the latest cards shown to both Míchel and Blind overturned.
That’s according to Diario Sport, amongst a host of others, with an insight into the arguments set to be laid out by the Catalans having also been provided.
Headmaster Míchel remains adamant that he did not disrespect referee Gil Manzano in any way before being shown a straight red card for precisely as much.
And Blind, it is alleged, did little more than request for an additional two minutes of injury time to be accounted for, owing to the delay caused by an injury to Real Sociedad star Mikel Oyarzabal.
