Barcelona forward João Félix was forced to sit out first-team training today, it has been revealed.
This comes with the Portuguese international suffering from a bout of illness.
Félix, of course, took his place front and centre in the Spanish media headlines on Sunday night, after netting the only goal of Barcelona’s crunch La Liga meeting with Atlético Madrid, his parent club.
It has since been revealed, though, that this came despite the 24-year-old having been suffering with a heavy cold.
As per a report from Helena Condis of COPE, Félix, in turn, was given permission to sit out training this afternoon, owing to an ongoing fever.
All associated with Barcelona will now have their fingers crossed for the club’s on-loan frontman to enjoy a speedy recovery.
This comes with Félix fresh off a timely return to form in front of goal, and Xavi’s troops preparing for another crucial La Liga showdown, against high-flying Girona this coming weekend.
