Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund recently revealed that Manuel Neuer is close to returning from the leg injury that has sidelined him since December.
Now, Bild is reporting that Neuer himself is targeting a comeback right after the international break.
According to the German tabloid, the 37-year-old is eager to make his return against Mainz on October 21.
After a 10-month rollercoaster rehab in which he suffered several setbacks, Neuer has recently been able to train pain-free.
Sven Ulreich has been Neuer’s deputy so far this season.
