Zinédine Zidane on his next job: “No news right now”

Zinédine Zidane has addressed rumours about his next job in management when quizzed by Sky Sports. When asked about his next foray into management, the former Real Madrid head coach said “No news, nothing right now. I’m enjoying time with my family and then we’ll see what happens in the future”.

This comes after France Bleu Provence reported that the former France international had agreed to become the manager of Olympique de Marseille if the club were to be purchased by Saudi Arabia. The French publication reported that Zidane had been promised an eye-watering transfer budget of €300m if he took the job. The Ballon d’Or winner has been unemployed since he left Madrid in 2021.

Zidane had his say on the rumour mill stating, “It will always be full of rumours until I am officially appointed as a manager, so let’s see”. The Frenchman has been a managerial target for many clubs in recent months, having rejected opportunities to manage PSG, Marseille and Al-Nassr, according to reports. Zidane is thought to want to manage Juventus or Les Bleus during his managerial career but both roles remain taken with Max Allegri as the current boss of Juventus and Didier Deschamps in charge of France.
