Marco Rose has reflected on Yussuf Poulsen’s qualities as player, saying the Danish international simply deserves to start ahead of Benjamin Sesko and Timo Werner at the moment.

RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has explained why Yussuf Poulsen has started the club’s last three games.
In a post-match interview after Leipzig’s 3-0 win over Augsburg yesterday, Rose said he believes Poulsen is Leipzig’s best player when it comes to making runs to put the opposition’s defense under pressure.
“He understands when and where to close the spaces. He’s a good target man, he understands the game, he can score. Yussi deserves to be on the pitch right now.
“There is no reason for me to change anything. But the others are pushing to start.”
Timo Werner and Benjamin Sesko both started from the bench last night, with Poulsen partnering Lois Openda up front.
