Jordan Henderson reveals reason he left Liverpool in the summer

Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter on Lyon’s managerial wishlist

Ligue 1 giants Lyon have added former Chelsea gaffer Graham Potter’s name to their managerial wishlist, as per a report from L’Equipe.

Les Gones are considering the dismissal of current head coach Laurent Blanc, who has experienced the worst possible start to the season, failing to pick up a win in four games.

The former Paris Saint-Germain gaffer took charge at the Groupama Stadium last October but failed to make an impact, with Lyon finishing seventh in Ligue 1 last season.

Following an underwhelming pre-season, Les Gones’ form has been stagnant this term, and it is believed that the heavy defeat against PSG over the weekend was Blanc’s last straw.

The French outfit have already drawn up a list of potential candidates as a replacement for Blanc, including Thiago Motta and Will Still, and Potter is the latest contender for the job.

The report also adds that Lyon’s American owner John Textor has held talks with Potter over the managerial role, and the latter also finds the project appealing.

The English gaffer has been without a job since leaving Chelsea earlier in April.

After an eye-catching spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, the West Londoners recruited him last September in the wake of Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal.

However, Potter couldn’t cut it at Stamford Bridge despite the Blues owner Todd Boehly handing the most expensive squad in Europe.

The 48-year-old recorded a poor tally of 12 wins, eight draws and 11 defeats before receiving the marching orders from the Blues.

Potter was recently linked with a move to Ligue 1 club Nice, and though he seemed interested in the move, a deal failed to materialise.

With Blanc’s days believed to be numbered at Lyon, it remains to be seen whether they would sack him during the international break.

Lyon are second bottom in the Ligue 1 table and will face newly-promoted Le Havre next weekend.
