Premier League side Liverpool continue to seek to add another central midfielder before the transfer window deadline later this week.
As reported by our colleagues at Sports Zone, one of their targets is ex-RC Lens and Malian international defensive midfield talent Cheick Doucouré, who is currently plying his trade with fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace, having joined them just last summer for approximately €30m.
Liverpool have formally sent Doucouré a contract offer in an attempt to find a provisional agreement with him before making a formal bid to his London-based side.
The intention on the part of the Reds is to sign another number six before the window shuts, and whilst Doucouré is an active target, LFC are understood to be talking with multiple different options.
Separately, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News, Belgian international and Arsenal midfielder Sambi Lokonga has been offered to Liverpool by player representatives. At this juncture, it does not appear that LFC have any plans to pursue Lokonga.
