Sky Italia are reporting that Luca Pellegrini is set to have his loan at Eintracht Frankfurt cut short and join Lazio for the rest of the season. The 23-year-old is a fan of Lazio having been born in Rome.
The left-back spent six months in Frankfurt but has never been able to impress having the likes of Christopher Lenz and Ansgar Knauff play ahead of him.
The 23-year-old played a total of 14 matches for Frankfurt during this time there neither assisting nor scoring. His last appearance for Frankfurt was a 31-minute cameo against Mainz. While his last start came in a 2-1 win against Augsburg where he was subbed off at halftime and replaced by Knauff who would score the winner.
Pellegrini will likely not be missed as Frankfurt have bought in Philipp Max on loan from PSV Eindhoven late on in the window, who can also play as a left-back but has greater Bundesliga experience.
