Marseille and Lyon target Villarreal midfielder Francis Coquelin

Francis Coquelin could leave Villarreal this summer, according to Relevo.

Marseille want to sign the 31-year-old midfielder with manager Jorge Sampaoli an admirer of the Frenchman.

Lyon are also said to be interested but as it stands, Marseille are in the driving seat to sign the player.

In 21/22, Coquelin made 20 league appearances for the Yellow Submarine, scoring twice and assisting once for Unai Emery’s side.

His contract with Villarreal ends in 2024.
