Cristian Portu is set to join Quique Sánchez Flores’ Getafe. The agreement between the parties is on track but not yet complete, according to Mundo Deportivo, who reported on Wednesday night that Portu was clear that he wanted to leave Real Sociedad this summer.
The 30-year-old wants to play more and Real understood from the beginning that it was time to let him leave, which has greatly accelerated the negotiations for his transfer. The Spanish winger had a contract for two more seasons and a termination clause of €50 million.
Getafe were the favourites in the race to sign Portu and Los Azulones will pay around 50% of the total amount (€10 million) that Real paid to Girona three seasons ago, so the transfer fee will be between €3-5 million.
He is expected to sign a four-year contract until June 2026 with the club from the south of Madrid.
