In quotes picked up by Marca, Gareth Bale has confirmed that he won’t be joining Getafe this summer despite reports earlier this week.
“I’m not going to Getafe, that’s for sure,” Bale said in a press conference for Wales on Friday.
“Wherever I go, it will be a win-win because I will be playing games before the World Cup.”
Getafe president Ángel Torres had said that he was in talks with Bale’s agent this week about a move to the La Liga club.
Since leaving Real Madrid, Bale has been linked with moves to the Championship and MLS.
“It is up to him and his family to decide on where is best for him to get in the right frame of mind for November, it’s going to be as simple as that, and it might even be as short-term as that,” Wales manager Robert Page said.
