Speculation about Niclas Füllkrug’s Werder Bremen future has increased following the striker’s decision to change his consultant agency.

Werder Bremen forward Niclas Füllkrug has changed his consultant agency to ROOF, who also represent stars such as Kai Havertz, Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mané.
“Niclas has informed us about it. He hopes it will give him new input. But he has also made it clear that he doesn’t want to force a transfer in the winter,” Werder Bremen head of licensing Clemens Fritz told Sport1.

A move this month is unlikely, but Füllkrug’s decision suggests that he’s thinking about taking the next step, with Sky Germany reporting that a transfer in the summer for around €15-20 million could be on the cards.

“Our situation has not changed. If a financially and sportingly interesting offer comes in, we will [deal with it]. That hasn’t been the case so far. We are very relaxed and assume that Niclas will play for us in the second half of the season,” said Fritz.

Füllkrug spoke in the same vein in an interview with Kicker yesterday, in which he said that he’s “not currently” thinking about a departure. He added:

“Until of course something concrete is on the table and Werder might say ‘that would also be attractive for us.’ Then we have to talk about it. You can never rule that out 100 percent.”
