Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer represented by his long-time agent, Portugal’s Jorge Mendes, after disagreements between the two over the future of Ronaldo’s career, according to reports in the Portuguese press.
Público reports that Mendes stepped down as Ronaldo’s agent in November following a dispute between the striker and his then-club Manchester United.
Mendes, considered the most influential agent in world football, was against Ronaldo’s explosive interview with English journalist Piers Morgan and his departure from Old Trafford.
And due to the different opinions about the future of the player’s career, both opted to break their working relationship, which started when the Portugal international was at Sporting CP.
The differences between the two would have started with Cristiano’s departure from Juventus in 2021, due to the difficulties in finding a team up to the demands of the Portuguese star, who wanted a leading role and to play in the Champions League.
