Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Roland Virkus says there is a “50-50” chance that Yann Sommer will extend his contract with the club beyond the summer.
“Yann has an offer. We have also spoken well, it must be said. There is a decision after the World Cup,” Virkus told the podcast ‘Mitgedacht’ (via Kicker).
“You also have personal goals. Maybe you want to play for another club again. Maybe you want to win another championship somewhere. He has to weigh all of that.”
The 33-year-old goalkeeper has played for Gladbach since 2014. He extended his contract until next summer back in 2019.
