According to Sport Bild, Frankfurt’s 38-year-old defender Makoto Hasebe emphasizes nutrition and relaxation in order to stay in such incredible playing shape.
Hasebe mainly sticks to Japanese food (fish, vegetables and rice), but eats chocolate every day along with the occasional Schnitzel. The former captain of Japan’s national team does not drink alcohol and reads books about philosophy when taking a bath. He also consistently meditates and requires at least eight hours of sleep.
It comes to no surprise that Hasebe has now been offered a contract extension. Frankfurt also have a clause in his current deal that keeps Hasebe at the club in a coaching role after his playing career is finished.
But, with this level of discipline, Hasebe doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon.
