Former Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has this weekend admitted that he never even took into consideration signing for another European club, after departing the Blaugrana.
Frontman Lewandowski of course brought a close to his stint in Catalunya’s capital this past summer.
Following four trophy-laden years, culminating in three La Liga titles, the Pole’s contract was not renewed, as the Camp Nou brass sought out a younger profile to lead the line moving forward.
Still a reliable performer in front of goal, Lewandowski, in turn, is understood to have had offers on the table from a whole host of clubs.
In the end, the 38-year-old opted to take his talents to Major League Soccer, with the Chicago Fire. And late this week, Lewandowski provided an insight into why he did not even consider joining a European club over the summer:
“After Barcelona, I couldn’t imagine myself in any different team in Europe. That is why I did not look for a club in Europe.”
