It appears unlikely to see Stade Rennais FC’s Esteban Lepaul (26) being called up to the France squad by Zinédine Zidane during the November international break, according to reports from RMC Sport.
Having suffered an ankle injury in mid-October, the French striker has still not returned to action, with just three days to go before the national team manager announces his squad. Whilst he is currently undergoing treatment, sources within the club suggest that Lepaul has suffered a sprain that is expected to keep him off the pitch for a further three weeks.
Set to miss the Europa League match against Olympiacos (Wednesday, 4.30 pm) and the Ligue 1 fixture against LOSC Lille (Sunday, 3 pm), the 26-year-old will not be expected to return to action before the break.
Called up for the first time to the French national team in September, Lepaul made two starts – both against Belgium – as well as coming on as a substitute against Turkey, marking his international debut.
