Tim Walter will face more pressure after Holstein Kiel’s unbeaten start to the season was extended to seven games with a 1-0 defeat to Eintracht Braunschweig, who were also winless since the 6-1 victory in Magdeburg in the opening matchday.
Jan Urbich had an excellent start to the game as he managed to find the net twice in the first 11 minutes. His excellent finish in the third minute was disallowed for an offside, but he then put the hosts in front by capitalizing on Ivan Nekić’s mistake.
Kiel’s center-back was also involved in his side’s best chance of the first 45 minutes. The lack of quality in both sides was visible as they struggled to create clear-cut chances in a physical battle that produced a total of 7 yellow cards.
The visitors improved after the break, but they failed to find an equalizing goal as their winless start to the season extended to seven games. Braunschweig momentarily climbed to eighth place with seven points from as many matches.
