Following the termination of Daniel Peretz’s loan, Hamburger SV is searching for a backup to Daniel Heuer Fernandes.

According to the Hamburger Abendblatt, SV Elversberg’s Nicolas Kristof of is a candidate for the Hanseatic club.

Kristof has been with Elversberg since 2021, experiencing a meteoric rise from the Regionalliga to the 2. Bundesliga play-offs.

This season, the goalkeeper has been key for Elversberg, who, with only 15 goals conceded, boast the second-best 2.Bundesliga defense after Schalke.

Kristof has played in all 17 second-division matches thus far and kept seven clean sheets, ensuring his value has risen to €1.8million.

Last season, when the Saarlanders were defeated by Heidenheim in the relegation play-offs, he also kept 13 clean sheets.

HSV reportedly has a budget of €2million, originally earmarked for a striker, which can now be invested elsewhere following the loan of Damion Downs.
