After missing three of Bayer Leverkusen’s last four games of 2025 due to injury, Alex Grimaldo is fit and set to return.
“He is ready and he is fit,” confirmed Bayer Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with VfB Stuttgart.
“He’s in top shape and looks good. He’s also excited to play again,” Hjulmand added.
However, the coach also emphasised that Grimaldo’s fitness will be closely monitored to prevent any setbacks.
“Of course, we have to be a bit careful after his injury to maintain balance. It’s important that we build that up gradually,” Hjulmand said.
This season, Grimaldo has scored nine times and set up five more in 20 games for Bayer 04 in all competitions.
