Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi (18) has extended his contract with his formative side until 2029. Bouaddi’s surprise contract extension has been announced just before Les Dogues’ home Ligue 1 game against Roberto De Zerbi’s Olympique de Marseille. The 18-year-old was just touted as a potential target for Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea.
The teenager made a name for himself on the European stage when, on his 17th birthday, he helped Lille register a historic 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Since then, his stock has only risen, becoming a key part of Lille’s midfield. RMC Sport reported earlier today that Lille wanted to extend Bouaddi’s contract in order to raise a potentially significant transfer fee in the summer.
