PSG head coach Luis Enrique has declared that he was not angry at all regarding Les Parisiens‘ current position in the Ligue 1 standings. The Champions League winners, who have won the last four Ligue 1 titles, are second behind Pierre Sage’s pace-setting Lens. “Facing more difficulties motivates us“, Luis Enrique said in his pre-game press conferance. “Given the context with so many injuries, we’re having a very good season.“
The Spaniard believes that, contrary to last season, PSG are not anymore the only team to compete at the top of the Ligue 1 standings. “The league is more motivating right now. We’ll see throughout the season who are the best. Right now, Lens are the best team.“
PSG host Habib Beye’s Rennes team this Saturday at Parc des Princes with the Bretons on a purple patch currently with four wins on the bounce. Luis Enrique has also defended the Senegalese head coach, whose job was on the line recently. “Five weeks ago, everyone wanted to kill him. And now he’s the best. Coaching is unfair.“
