Chelsea’s own Brazilian wonderkid was one of the star performers as Enzo Maresca’s side defeated Barcelona in the Champions League
Chelsea wonderkid Estevao has made his feelings perfectly clear on Blues’ supporters after their impressive 3-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League.
The 18-year-old scored the second goal of the night as Enzo Maresca’s side defeated the La Liga giants on home soil, with a Jules Kounde own goal and Liam Delap’s finish earning a vital three points.
Estevao is one of the hottest prospects in football at the moment and outshone his fellow wonderkid, Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, who won the 2024 Golden Boy award at the age of 17.
The Spanish winger is already one of the best players in the world, but Chelsea have their own star in their ranks and supporters were quick to jibe at Yamal on a disappointing night in London.
Chelsea supporters aimed X-rated chants at the Barcelona 18-year-old, chanting: ‘You’re just a s*** Estevao,’ as the Blues ran riot.
Speaking to Amazon Prime after the game, Estevao hailed Chelsea’s fans for making him feel at home.
The young Brazilian said: “I don’t really have any words to sum up how I’m feeling right now. It really was the perfect night. I’m just grateful to God for everything that has happened for me. Onwards and upwards from here.”
When asked about his goal, he said: “It all happened very quickly for me, it sort of happened before I knew it.
“I just found some space, wiggled my way through and then scored that goal. It was such a special moment for me in my career. I hope to score many more.
“It was definitely the best moment of my career so far. I want to score many more for many years. I’m so grateful that my family were here watching me.”
When asked about his connection with the fans, Estevao said: “From the moment I arrived here, I felt such a connection with the fans.
“I’m just so happy that I could score for them and make them happy. I hope to keep making them happy and score more goals for them.”
