Callum Wilson’s brace against his old club earned West Ham United a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Wilson scored the visitors’ opener early in the first half, as he caught Djordje Petrovic out of position and netted a long-range effort against his former side, who were without injured Antoine Semenyo on Saturday afternoon at the Vitality Stadium.
While Bournemouth had much of the possession in the first half, Andoni Iraola’s side were unable to turn dominance on the ball into goals before Wilson added his second with a brilliant chip past Petrovic.
Nuno Espirito Santo made two defensive-oriented substitutions early in the second half to try and protect West Ham’s two-goal lead and the plan ultimately backfired as the visitors conceded twice.
Bournemouth’s first goal came from a penalty after Marcus Tavernier converted from the spot following a handball by Max Kilman.
Iraola’s side equalised with less than 10 minutes to play as substitute Enes Unal scored from inside the penalty box with his first touch of the game.
