Claudio Echeverri has seen limited playing time since joining Bayer Leverkusen on loan from Manchester City over the summer and has featured just 46 minutes across the last five games.
According to Argentine newspaper Olé, the situation has prompted the Premier League club to consider ending the 19-year-old’s loan in the winter transfer window.
The report states that a clause in the agreement allows City to recall Echeverri if he hasn’t played in at least 50 percent of Leverkusen’s matches.
So far, he has appeared in six of Leverkusen’s 12 games this season – exactly 50 percent.
The Argentine international still has three years remaining on his contract with Manchester City.
