Barcelona star Marcus Rashford has this week been sent something of a warning regarding his behaviour in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes after the Englishman was punished by Hansi Flick this past weekend.
Fresh off a Man of the Match performance in Barcelona’s Champions League opening day victory over Newcastle United, Rashford was surprisingly dropped to the bench against Getafe.
Word, in turn, was forthcoming that the 27-year-old was in fact being punished.
This came after Rashford was late to a team meeting on the day of the fixture.
And though the understanding is that the attacker was just two minutes delayed in his arrival, one individual who appears to have little sympathy for Rashford is fellow countryman Alan Shearer.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media this week, as cited by Diario Sport, Newcastle icon Shearer revealed his take that:
“He was sensational against Newcastle. The second ending, in particular, was incredible. But you can’t be unprofessional. Why should everyone else be on time, but you’re late? It doesn’t matter if you’re two minutes late or 20 minutes late. You’re late, and your teammates have to wait for you. He’s not well.
“I guess if you want to stay there, particularly just on loan, you have to change, because when you’re at an important club like Barcelona, there will always be someone to take your place.”
