Crystal Palace have made an offer to sign Ajax defender Borna Sosa, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The 27-year-old is being lined up as competition for Tyrick Mitchell, who has been Palace’s first-choice option in that role.
A formal proposal has also been made to the player, who is open to a move to the Premier League.
The Eagles hope to convince him to join the club, particularly with the prospect of playing in the Europa League.
Talks are ongoing, but Sosa has yet to make a final decision on his future.
Sosa would be a great addition to Palace’s squad

Sosa spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Torino in Serie A. He made 19 league appearances before dropping out of the squad in February.
He lost his place after struggling with form and later suffered an injury that kept him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Sosa has 26 international caps for Croatia. He played a key role in their 2022 World Cup run, starting five of their six matches.
However, he had a limited role at the 2024 European Championship, appearing as a substitute just once during the tournament.
He is renowned for his pace and attacking play from the left side. His energy enables him to move forward and track back quickly, making him effective in both attack and defence.
He would be a solid signing for Palace and would boost their hopes of making progress in the Europa League next season.

Palace have also shown interest in Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande as they aim to bolster their defensive options.
