Sporting Director Oliver Mintzlaff was not pleased with the coach in Leipzig’s Europa League defeat back in May, according to Bild information.

Domenico Tedesco reportedly told the team during their huge Europa League semi-final match to Rangers last season that, “Even if we lose everything now, it was a super season for us.” This is according to Bild, who state that Leipzig were also upset Tedesco refused to extend his contract.

The trainer wanted to see what kind of input he would have in the summer transfer window. Reportedly, the signings of Xaver Schlager and Timo Werner increased the tensions between Tedesco and the club.

Even after securing Leipzig’s first trophy in the DFB-Pokal, the 36-year-old is no longer employed by the Red Bull club.
