Juventus are planning to step up their efforts to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson this summer (h/t Gianluca Di Marzio).
The Bianconeri are on the hunt for a top-class midfielder in the transfer window and have been linked with high-profile names like Sandro Tonali.
However, Tonali is keen to continue at Newcastle United, while his €70 million valuation reduces Juve’s chances of signing him.
With their other target Davide Frattesi leaning towards staying at Inter Milan, the Old Lady have started looking for alternatives.
Ederson has been on Juve’s radar for a while, and he looks to be on his way out from Atalanta this summer.
Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal have approached the Brazilian with a lucrative offer, but only to be turned down by the player.
Juve are considering submitting a concrete offer to test the resolve of Atalanta, as well as to stave off other suitors for Ederson.
The negotiations would not be easier as La Dea are demanding a fee in excess of €50 million to part ways with Ederson.
The 25-year-old has been seen as an ideal replacement for his compatriot Douglas Luiz, who has endured a struggling spell in Turin since his €50m move from Aston Villa.
Manager Igor Tudor wants to find an upgrade on the former Villa star, who has been linked with a return to the Premier League.
Ederson has grown in stature as one of the finest midfielders in Serie A, playing a pivotal role in Atalanta becoming a regular top-four contenders.
He has mainly featured as one of the double pivots for Atalanta, bringing solidity to the midfield and pulling strings with his passing repertoire.

It would make him a perfect addition for Tudor, who has mostly used the 3-4-2-1 formation in his short spell at the Allianz Stadium.
Ederson can be teamed up with Manuel Locatelli for a formidable partnership at the heart of Juve’s midfield.
