The identity of the referee for the upcoming Copa del Rey final has on Monday been revealed.
The official set to take charge of the fixture? Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea.
The latest edition of the Copa del Rey finale is of course set to play out this coming weekend.
The matchup will see Spanish football’s fiercest rivalry restored, as Barcelona and Real Madrid lock horns in a highly-anticipated Clásico showdown.
A heated affair is widely predicted, with Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid no doubt desperate to bring an end to their arch rivals’ hopes of securing a historic treble.
As much means that the team of officials in charge of proceedings will likely have their work cut out for them.
And as alluded to above, on Monday, the respective identities of those tasked with overseeing the action at La Cartuja have been confirmed.
As per Mundo Deportivo, despite César Soto Grado having previously been considered the favourite to referee the fixture:
‘Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea will be the main referee, and Pablo González Fuertes will be in charge of the VAR.’
